2011 NISSAN ALTIMA DYNAMIC DIGITAL BROCHURE –
Expect thrilling performance and exceptional quality on both the Altima Sedan and Altima Coupe.
INNOVATION THAT LASTS TIMES TWO –
The Altima Sedan and Altima Coupe feature innovation that lasts. Features include: Push Button Ignition, virtually gearless CVT transmission, sporty 6-speed manual, a fuel-efficient 4-cylinder or potent V6 engine.
THRILLING PERFORMANCE
– Take on the open road with an advanced engine lineup and some of the same performance features borrowed from our legendary Z®. Nissan's legendary VQ 3.5-liter V6 means even the carpool lane is a thrill. Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS) optimizes the opening of intake valves, so you always have power off the line or when passing. Even with all that power you'll still get impressive fuel economy. Go for the high-energy 175-hp 4-cylinder engine with friction-reducing technology. It gives you V6-like smoothness and performance, while still achieving up to 32 mpg.1 Virtually gearless CVT transmission gives you seamless, instant acceleration. Smooth-shifting 6-speed manual is available on the Coupe to keep you close to the action. Z®-inspired suspension features lightweight multi-link design for quick response, and a level ride through the twisty stuff.
BRAKING AND CONTROL SYSTEMS
– Altima comes standard with the following advanced braking and control systems: Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) helps keep you on your steered course if it senses understeer or oversteer.2 Traction Control System (TCS) senses when your front wheels start to slip, then reduces engine power and/or applies front brakes to help restore grip. You can count on Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) to constantly monitor weight distribution in your Altima and adjust rear brake force for more balanced braking. And when you need to stop in a hurry, the standard Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) offers added control under emergency braking by preventing the wheels from locking up.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
– The advanced Nissan Navigation System makes finding your destination an easy task, while XM NavTraffic® helps you avoid gridlock along the way.3,4 Navigation video on this page gives you an overview. Ratchet up your technology game with the following features: Nissan Intelligent Key® and Push Button Ignition mean you can forget about fumbling to find your keys. Back up with confidence using an available RearView Monitor that gives you a clear picture of what’s directly behind you.5 Connect your iPod® or other portable MP3 player and listen to your own playlists or podcast through the iPod® / USB interface, then turn up the volume with the available Bose® audio system.6,7 Its nine speakers will make you actually feel like you are at the concert. And stay connected with the Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System that lets you make and receive calls with a touch of a button on the steering wheel.8
ALTIMA INSPIRES CONFIDENCE
– Over 5,000 quality and durability tests ensure your Altima is built to last. Tests include locking it in a chamber and baking it under 266 bulbs and testing it at our Arizona proving grounds that replicate some of the worst roads a vehicle could ever travel over. A video gives an overview of the testing. And of course, safety is at the top of your list, so we included the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) and front-seat Active Head Restraints.9 As well as an industry first, The Snug Kids® Child Safety Seat Fit Guide, which is the result of thousands of hours of evaluation of child restraints in Nissan vehicles by safety engineers. For even greater confidence, the Altima LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) lets you secure LATCH-compatible child restraints in the rear seats without having to use seat belts or locking clip.
